Activision is taking a crack at the Ghostbusters license with another game. This one is simply titled Ghostbusters, and it’s launching on the same day as the so-far-polarizing flick, July 15, 2016.
This wasn’t necessarily bad news. Activision has tapped the likes of Platinum Games for titles like Transformers: Devastation and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan.
With the Ghostbusters license in tow, Activision could have tapped a storied developer for a movie tie-in. We have no idea who they brought on for the work, because they haven’t said.
We do know that this game features Ghostbusters rookies, and that it takes place after the events of the film. The rookies aren’t the movie’s main cast, either. They’re the B-team that stays and watches the Ghostbusters HQ.
Whether it’s the movie’s drama or the quality of the trailer, folks don’t seem too enthused about this one. The video is low on views, and the dislike ratio is high.
Is anyone even cautiously optimistic about this one?
